Feeling clean and living independently shouldn’t be at odds with one another. And yet, so many people with limited mobility lack the facilities needed to go about their days in comfort.

At the John Ford Group, we understand that conventional WCs can make toileting a stressful experience, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

In a previous blog, we covered the Gerberit AquaClean Mera Care, a fantastic accessible toilet, but there are other great options out there…

Enter the Closomat Palma Vita.

Who Is It For?

The Closomat Palma Vita accessible toilet is for everyone, regardless of their needs.

Whilst anyone can use this accessible toilet, those that might benefit most include:

  • Obese clients
  • Clients with reduced mobility
  • The elderly
  • End-of-life patients
  • People in need of accessible wash facilities after a hospital stay

People who suffer from IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and similar illnesses may also find that the gentle wash and dry cycles of the Palma Vita can help to minimise the discomfort associated with wiping.

The Benefits

Paperless Toileting

Fiddly toilet paper can be a real challenge to navigate, so the Closomat Palma Vita wash and dry toilet eradicates the need for it. This improves usability and cleanliness – it’s also better for the environment, as well as your bank account!

Installed To Suit The User

The Palma Vita is wall-hung, making it customisable to the user’s height.

Easy To Clean

Because the Palma Vita sits slightly above the floor, it is very simple to clean around. The way it is installed also means that there is no damage to flooring or pipework upon fitting.

Ergonomically Designed

The Palma Vita accessible toilet has been manufactured in such a way as to limit user fatigue and discomfort, as well as enhance independent living. With no need for the user to turn, stretch or reach around to access toilet paper or flush, pain is significantly reduced.

Suitable For All Shapes And Sizes

As well as featuring accessible modifications, this toilet can be used as a conventional WC for those who are most accustomed to standard toileting practices. And, with a safe working load of up to 190kg, or 30 stone, the Palma Vita is ideally suited to serve most individuals and is built to last.

How Does It Work?

Whether you’re sitting or standing to use the Closomat Palma Vita, operating the accessible toilet is extremely simple.

To Stand And Flush

Elbow pads situated on the front of the back support panel can be pressed individually to operate a standard flushing action.

Washing

Whilst seated, the user presses the elbow pad and holds for 10-15 seconds to initiate the flush and gentle, warm water douching sequence.

Drying

As soon as the elbow pad is released, moderate air drying commences, leaving the user hygienically and comfortably dry.

How Much Does It Cost?

We know that our customers appreciate transparency around product pricing.

A Closomat Palma Vita accessible toilet costs around £4,000 to supply and install, with varying options for additional adaptations such as lap straps, extra body supports or alternative toilet seats.

Plumbing And Installation

Fitting a Closomat Palma Vita Wash and Dry Toilet requires a power connection and mains cold water feed, both of which we can check for in advance to minimise disruption on the day.

You can be confident that our expert fitters will get you up and running as quickly as possible, usually around half a day inclusive of a full test run.
