The Project:

The property was relatively new (circa 10 years old) and purchased from the original developer.

Our client had been involved in an accident at work which rendered him with spinal injuries. He required a wheelchair much of the time. Whilst the property had been built to recent building regulations and much of the house was level access – remodelling was required to make fit for purpose.

ARA architects worked with the client to design modifications to the property to enable him freely access all areas of the property in his wheelchair.

The original property was built to very high finishes and the adaptations were in keeping with this –  included an enclosed lift, adapted ensuite with wet room and bath, adapted kitchen and automated central building management system (Lutron).

Works were finished in 22 weeks with the client, his wife and young family moving in on time.
